Matthew Good Foundation Reaches £2 Million Milestone

£2 million. It is a number worth pausing on – not because of what it says about us, but because of what it represents for the hundreds of small charities and community groups who have received that support since 2011. Here, we reflect on the journey, the people who made it possible, and what comes next.

Minorfern Foundation closes second year with £40,000 granted to eleven local charities.

The Minorfern Foundation has completed its second year of charitable giving, awarding £40,000 in unrestricted grants to eleven organisations across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Staffordshire and Yorkshire. This brings the total distributed since the Foundation’s launch in 2024 to £80,000 – supporting twenty-one organisations across the regions where SDL Car Parts operates.

Outkast Panda Crew, a Community Interest Company which evolved from a modified car club in Hull, has featured in a new mini documentary. The 11-minute film, funded by The Matthew Good Foundation and produced by INIT Creative, highlights the power held by grassroots organisations to improve inner-city communities, by raising aspirations beyond a life of crime and anti-social behaviour for disadvantaged youths.

Humber Wellbeing Hub receives more than £5,000 from the John Good Group to help increase opening hours and save more lives.

The Humber Wellbeing Hub, an emotional wellbeing organisation set up at the Humber Bridge Country Park in response to an increase in tragedies at the Humber Bridge, has received £5,000 of unrestricted funds from John Good Group’s Grants for Good Fund, plus further support with resources from the Matthew Good Foundation. The growing organisation attracted overwhelming support from John Good Group employees, many of whom work at Hesslewood Business Park, right next door to the Country Park.

Matthew Good Foundation and Sea-Changers help to fund Cornwall’s first “living wall” habitat in Falmouth Harbour

A Falmouth harbour wall that was sparse of wildlife is set to become a bristling habitat of marine flora and fauna due to the installation of ‘habitiles’ designed to increase biodiversity. The installation has been led by Cornish charity, Our Only World, with funding provided by grant making charities – The Matthew Good Foundation and Sea-Changers.
