Their mission is to promote technological literacy for all local children, bridging the gap for those who may not have had such opportunities before. Through carefully curated experiences, Reel Creative sparks creativity, fosters self-confidence, and instils a broad range of digital skills including video production, graphic design, online content creation and AI.
The money raised through donations to The Children’s Hospital Charity supports specialist treatment from head to toe, by funding life-saving equipment, new facilities, a comfortable environment and vital research at Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, which changes paediatric care for thousands of children from across the world.
Walking 4 hope is a charity that supports families and young people who find it difficult to deal with the pressures that day to day life presents, including those experiencing or at risk of poor mental health. They provide recreational/leisure time activities in the interest of social welfare, and offer practical advice, support and signposting to other organisations when required. They also educate the wider public on mental health through the distribution of material produced by expert organisations.
FiND (Families for Individual Need and Dignity) is a charity in East Yorkshire dedicated to supporting adults and school-leavers with severe learning disabilities and/or autism. Operating from two sites in Cottingham and Hessle, FiND aims to enhance quality of life and independence through a variety of activities.
Outkast Panda Crew are a team of volunteers improving the lives of young adults in the Hull area who are at risk of becoming involved in anti-social behaviour and crime by offering them a route to positive engagement and success in their community. After visiting the project and seeing it’s impact, the Matthew Good Foundation worked with Init Creative to help the crew to produce this mini-documentary and get their powerful message out to more funders.
Menopause and Cancer is a patient-advocacy organisation providing unique digital and in-person support to those over 18, with any cancer type, who experience menopause as a result of treatment or surgery. Dani Binnington founded Menopause and Cancer after being thrown into surgical menopause at 39, following a cancer diagnosis five years earlier, and receiving no information or support.
The Ocean Trust aim to rebuild coral reefs in the Western Indian Ocean, starting with the Lamu archipelago, Kenya where they are based. Using a simple but effective method, the reefs are being rebuilt by local people, who also benefit economically from the alternative livelihoods, employment and education opportunities created.
The volunteer team at Poole Sailability use their fleet of four sailboats to provide sailing activities in Poole Harbour and the surrounding area for people with a wide range of disabilities, including local school children from SEN Schools. They also have a club to ensure that those with a keener interest in sailing are able to keep up their hobby in a safe and inclusive environment.

Their primary objectives include supporting individuals in recovery, enhancing the local community, creating pathways to employment, promoting environmentalism, and challenging addiction stereotypes.
The Heart of Argyll Wildlife Organisation (HAWO) is based in Argyll’s Knapdale Forest, an important area for biodiversity. They work with national organisations to monitor species and perform biodiversity restoration work, conserving the habitat for the future. They also provide sustainable tourism activities and educate local school children in wetland ecology.
The Junction Community Hub is open in Hedon, East Yorkshire, every Thursday from 2pm to 4pm. Visitors will find a friendly face, good coffee and cake, a warm atmosphere and a programme of activities and events each week from singing, crafts, quiz and more. The Junction is also supported by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Alzheimers UK and is a Dementia Friendly group.
Access the Dales exists to break down the barriers that prevent people living with disabilities from enjoying the great outdoors by making all-terrain mobility vehicles available to borrow at outdoor locations in the Yorkshire Dales. After meeting Access the Dales and its founder Debbie, when the charity was a successful Grants for Good finalist, the Matthew Good Foundation went on to fund this video to help raise awareness.
The Peel Project was launched in 2021 at Peel Street Park in the Central Ward in Hull’s City Centre. Residents were concerned that the park had become an unsafe place, despite being a much needed resource for this community, and decided to set up an organisation that could bring the community together and make Peel Street Park a safe and inclusive environment once more.
Lab7even helps young people aged between 13-20 from disadvantaged backgrounds in the Cardiff area, particularly those from minorities or those who are at risk of criminal exploitation, by running weekly music sessions with mentors, funding studio time, providing musical equipment, and facilitating trips and events. They break down the barriers the young people are facing, build self-esteem, provide positive role models and ultimately a new path into the creative industries.

Their latest project is focussed on helping the school children of tea-workers in Bangladesh to escape the poverty cycle through education.

The Food Forest Project is an intersectional environmental charity seeking to tackle issues such as food poverty, habitat & biodiversity loss, access to safe green space, carbon sequestration, and soil health. Working with local landowners, and local communities in Somerset, the Food Forest Project designs and builds free, community assisted, regenerative agroecological schemes for local communities, to ensure people have access to free, organic produce that doesn’t cost the earth.
This project, from CPRE Avon and Bristol aims to rebuild, restore, and protect hedgerows in the West of England, whilst training local residents and authorities in traditional and more sustainable hedge management practice. This restoration of wildlife habitats is not just great for wildlife and the environment, but also for local volunteers who are able to reap the benefits of taking part in a meaningful outdoor activity in their local area.
The Children’s University are a charity that works with children growing up in disadvantaged areas of Hull and East Yorkshire who may not have the same opportunities as others. They aim to light up every path that a child could take and help create dreams for the future. They do this by providing experiences that broaden horizons and raise aspirations including a London Experience; a day at a local business learning about the industry; a sleepover in the Natural History Museum or an intergenerational experience, bringing the young and the elderly together.
