We’re delighted to welcome Tracy Keenan-Smith to the Matthew Good Foundation team in the new part-time role of Administration Assistant. Tracy brings with her a wealth of experience working for our Founder, the John Good Group and a deep-rooted passion for charitable work, making her an invaluable addition as we continue to grow our impact in the non-profit sector.
With a remarkable 35-year career at DAN Shipping, one of the John Good Group’s businesses, Tracy has built a reputation for her calm, methodical approach and compassionate support of colleagues, and has long been a respected figure within the Group. She also plays an active role in employee wellbeing as one of the Group’s dedicated “Wellbeing Warriors”.
Tracy’s dedication to others doesn’t stop at work. She volunteers with HER Breast Friends, a Hull-based breast cancer support charity, and has been an enthusiastic supporter of the Matthew Good Foundation since it was founded in 2011 – contributing thousands to charities through our employee giving programme and taking part in volunteering efforts.
About Tracy’s New Role
In her new position, Tracy will be supporting several key areas of the Foundation’s work, including the administration of our Grants for Good programme, processing applications through the John Good Group Employee Giving scheme, coordinating volunteering opportunities, and helping us maintain rigorous due diligence in our grant making.
This added capacity comes at a pivotal time for the Foundation, as increased engagement with our programmes has led to a rise in demand from both colleagues and small charities seeking support. Tracy’s attention to detail, professional experience, and personal commitment to our mission will ensure we can keep pace with this growth and continue to provide high-quality support to those who need it most.
Reflecting on her new role, Tracy said:
“I’m excited to take on this new role with the Foundation. It’s a chance to bring my skills and experience to something I’ve always been passionate about – supporting charities and making a positive impact. The opportunity to expand my role while continuing my work at DAN Shipping is the perfect balance, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the Foundation, which I’ve always loved being a part of as a member.”

Kirsty Clark, Executive Director of the Matthew Good Foundation, shared:
“At the Matthew Good Foundation, our mission is to help small, grassroots non-profits thrive by giving them the resources, visibility, and encouragement they need to grow. Tracy’s appointment enables us to better meet the growing demand for our support, and her values and experience align perfectly with our team.
