Five small UK charities have received a share of £15,000 in funding, as the John Good Group announces the results of its latest Grants for Good round. Read on to find out who won, and the difference their projects are making in communities across the country.

The Matthew Good Foundation is delighted to reveal the winners of the latest round of Grants for Good, the John Good Group’s corporate funding programme. Between them, five outstanding charities and community groups will share £15,000 to support their work.
Five Years of Grants for Good
This round marks a milestone for the programme, which has now been running for five years. In that time, Grants for Good has awarded £278,000 to 104 grassroots charities, voluntary groups, and social enterprises across the UK.
The Matthew Good Foundation created the programme for John Good Group. It aims to make funding more accessible to small non-profits with an annual income under £50,000. These organisations often struggle to access traditional grant funding. That’s why we designed Grants for Good with a simpler, more inclusive process in mind.
Charities apply through a short form, sharing their mission and impact. From there, employees vote to decide how to share the funding among the shortlisted finalists. Because employees choose the winners, the programme connects social and environmental impact directly with employee engagement. This means funding goes to causes that genuinely resonate with the people voting for them.
The Foundation has also expanded the programme beyond the John Good Group, inviting other businesses to offer Grants for Good as part of their own social impact strategies.
Even small grants can lead to big change. From mental health and poverty to environmental protection and community resilience, this funding helps grassroots organisations create real, lasting impact where it’s needed most.

What Our Winners Are Saying
“YOPEY inspires, trains and supports teenagers to befriend care home residents, many lonely and many living with dementia. The young people reconnect older people with the world outside the care home, and they learn life skills, from patience and empathy to how to care for someone with dementia.”
Tony Gearing MBE – Founder, YOPEY
