The Matthew Good Foundation is proud to announce that our Chairman, Tim Good, has been included in the ‘Family Business United Top 100’.

Family Business United has created the inaugural top 100 to showcase some of the best of family business individuals across the UK, and the recognition of significant contributions to society is an honour for both Tim, The Foundation and the John Good Group.

As well as founding the Matthew Good Foundation in 2011, Tim is also the 6th generation custodian and non-executive director of family business The John Good Group. Tim’s impact into the business is making sure his team lead fulfilling lives and through their actions, in and outside of the business, make a positive difference in the world.

Through his leadership and direction, the foundation continues to make a real impact on communities around the globe. His ethos of having a positive impact by putting both the environment and the communities that his family business operates in at the heart of their choices, even to the detriment of profit, is echoed within the new vision for the sixth-generation family business.

“To be recognised in the top 100 and to be named among such strong family businesses, is a real milestone in our journey in making John Good Group a force for good.”

Tim explains his delight to be named in the top 100, “To be recognised in the top 100 and to be named among such strong family businesses, is a real milestone in our journey in making John Good Group a force for good. We understand the true meaning of a family business and the positive impact it can have on not just our own people, but people within the communities where we operate and across the UK. It is a testament to the team here at John Group that we can genuinely realise our vision and that is to ensure that the environment and the communities we work alongside benefit from our day-to-day business activities.”

Paul Andrews, Founder of Family Business United, explains, “Family firms are significant contributors to the economy in terms of jobs provided, income generated, and wealth created and behind each family firm are individuals driving them, making decisions and looking to the future. Family firms take the long-term view and invest in their businesses and the communities in which they operate and we wanted to create the Family Business Top 100 to recognise outstanding individuals within these organisations and to shine a light on the people that are making a difference within the business and more broadly too.”

The future of both the Matthew Good Foundation and the John Good Group is bright, with several exciting developments going live as we move into 2023, concentrating on projects and initiatives that will drive good impact on people and the planet.
