New boat for the Pygmy cooperatives

One of the Foundation’s grassroots projects is helping to protect the indigenous Pygmy tribes of the Congo. The project aims to set up trading cooperatives within the Congo which add value to products that the Pigmy people collect. You can find out more about this project here.

With some of the tribes that this project helps to protect being in remote regions, the cooperatives can find it challenging to move their products to major centres where the products can be sold. Recently, however, a boat was built using local timber and labour, to aid in this transportation and is now helping to distribute goods to urban areas for sale.

Here are some photos of the boat and its launch!
