Fairplay provides vital support to children and young people with disabilities and additional needs, as well as their families, across North Derbyshire. Operating from its purpose-built centre in Chesterfield, which includes 1.6 acres of garden space, Fairplay offers a comprehensive range of services for families with children and young people aged 0-25. These services include play schemes, Saturday clubs, youth clubs, activity days, themed groups, independent living groups, parent support groups, and family trips. With a dedicated team of 80 staff members, Fairplay currently supports over 400 families.
In collaboration with Clinical Commissioning Groups and a specialist Community Children’s Nurse, Fairplay also delivers home-based care for children with complex, potentially life-limiting or life-threatening health conditions. This child-centred, flexible service is tailored to meet the unique needs of each child and family, offering both medical and emotional support.
Fairplay’s services provide essential respite for parents while also offering children and young people opportunities to develop important life skills. Through these initiatives, Fairplay makes a lasting, positive impact on families, enhancing their well-being and creating meaningful experiences that truly make a difference in their lives.
