Business Charity Awards - Corporate Foundation 2025

We are thrilled to announce that the Matthew Good Foundation has won Best Corporate Foundation at the Third Sector Business Charity Awards. This recognition is a huge honour for us, as a grassroots grant maker and reflects the value of our commitment to supporting local charities and community initiatives.

The awards ceremony, held in London, celebrated outstanding contributions from corporate foundations across the UK. To be recognised on a national scale among big names like Aviva, Citizen’s Advice, Netflix and Mind is an incredible achievement for our foundation. It truly reflects the power of grassroots giving and the lasting impact that small but mighty charities can have.

Our mission is to amplify the work of grassroots charities – those whose passion and commitment make a real difference in their communities. Winning this award reinforces that being a comparatively small grantmaker doesn’t limit our impact. As one of our previous grant recipients said, “Your support gave us the confidence to keep going.” Now, this award has given us that same boost!

This win is also deeply meaningful as a tribute to Matthew, our co-founder who lost his life while raising money for charity. His legacy of giving back continues to inspire everything we do. We remain dedicated to honouring his spirit by supporting the small but mighty charities that need it most, and the employees at the John Good Group, who direct much of our charitable giving.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Rio and Natasha from Sailors’ Children’s Society for nominating us and being with us on the night. Your support and belief in our work mean so much to us.

This award inspires us to keep pushing forward in our mission to support small charities that are making a big impact. We encourage local businesses and grantmakers to join us in backing grassroots projects – together, we can continue to make a difference.
