Supporting the people behind change: leadership bursary now open

The Matthew Good Foundation is delighted to partner with Embercombe to offer the Changemaker Bursary, which will fully fund five places on The Twin Trail, a six-month mentoring programme for people committed to creating positive social, environmental, or community change.

The bursary has been created to support individuals who feel compelled to make a difference but may face barriers to accessing long-term, high-quality mentoring and community support. While the Foundation supports grassroots charities and community organisations through funding, we also recognise that people and leadership are just as critical as money in driving lasting change.

Through the Changemaker Bursary, the Matthew Good Foundation aims to support the individuals behind powerful ideas, nurturing confidence, resilience and leadership capacity so that grassroots changemakers are better equipped to create meaningful impact in their communities and the environment.

About The Twin Trail

The Twin Trail is a core programme at Devon-based eco-retreat centre, Embercombe. It is designed to support people to live and lead from deeper alignment with themselves, their values, and the wider living world. The six-month programme combines residential experiences, online learning, one-to-one coaching and peer learning, offering participants time, space and support to develop their leadership and direction.

Key dates for the programme include:

  • 20 May (7-9pm): Online opening session
  • 22-28 June: Residential module at Moor Barton, Dartmoor
  • 29 July (7-9pm): Mid-phase online review
  • 1-4 October: Residential module at Embercombe

Applicants must be able to commit to attending all residential dates.

The bursary covers the full programme fee of £1,925, including accommodation and meals during residential elements. Travel costs are not included.
