Wildlings

Wildlings is a nature-focused early years setting that combines indoor and outdoor learning to support children’s development. Set across a bright hall and ancient woodland, it provides a safe space where children can explore, play, and grow at their own pace. The setting’s ethos encourages curiosity, resilience, and care for the natural world, creating a collaborative community that benefits children and the planet alike.

Established to provide more than traditional early years education, Wildlings encourages learning through play, exploration, and hands-on interaction with nature. Children engage in a range of activities from woodland exploration, gardening, and bushcraft to creative and sensory projects. These experiences help build confidence, independence, and problem-solving skills while fostering a deeper connection with the environment.

Sustainability is at the heart of Wildlings’ work. Children and staff follow practices such as recycling, composting, and caring for green spaces, learning to understand how their actions affect the world around them. The setting has also partnered with local conservation groups to protect and rewild nearby woodland, offering children a first-hand experience of stewardship and environmental responsibility.

Wildlings’ impact reaches beyond individual learning. By nurturing strong relationships between children, families, and educators, it fosters social cohesion and a supportive local network. The setting demonstrates how early childhood education can contribute to both community wellbeing and environmental awareness, helping to raise a generation that is confident, compassionate, and connected to the world they live in.
