Foundation News: Race For Life

NEWS SHOT / RACE FOR LIFE
Application Type: Match Funding
Member: Diane Wylde

Diane Wylde from the Tilbury office wanted to run the Race for Life event in Basildon, Essex, which raises money for Cancer Research.  However, Diane is currently awaiting a hip replacement and so nominated Natasha, her daughter in law, to do the run on her behalf. She has since completed the run for this great cause and we match funded the money she raised.

New Guideline:

As you know, the Foundation operates by a set of guidelines. The 1st and most important guideline is that you have to be a member of the Foundation to apply. This is granted automatically if you are an employee of a company within the John Good Group. However, this is the first time that a non Foundation Member has done the fundraising and has been accepted for Match Funding. After considering the circumstances, it was approved.

This therefore lays precedent for future fund raising efforts whereby, if an exceptional circumstance prevents you from taking part, you can nominate someone else to do it on your behalf. In each case it will be refereed to the Trustees for approval.
