Bundles of Joy is a charity based in Beverley supports babies, children and their families throughout Hull and East Yorkshire. Its purpose is to help relieve poverty and offer support to disadvantaged families who have found themselves in need, by providing clothing, toiletries, nappies, toys, prams, cots and other essential baby equipment.
Through the generous donations the charity receives from the local community, Bundles of Joy is able to help families in need, due to a range of circumstances sometimes unforeseen such as poverty, crisis, illness or domestic abuse. The charity doesn’t just rely on monetary donations though; it also bridges the gap between those who have items to donate and the families who would welcome them. Bundles of Joy collects and distributes baby clothing and any baby items which can be reused, such as toys, blankets, prams and moses baskets. It also collects toys and clothing for older children which helps families manage their limited budgets better. The charity also provides emergency support for accessing equipment when needed following an event that wasn’t anticipated.
During the first half of this year, we’ve donated £1,000 to Bundles of Joy after the charity was nominated on two separate occasions to receive a £500 championing grant. Our latest donation will help the charity continue to make a difference during the coronavirus pandemic and will be used to purchase essential items.
We’re delighted to be supporting such a fantastic charity, that not only helps families in need but also promotes the recycling and reuse of items that other families no longer need. The charity has also been recognised for its efforts to support families and its community by receiving a Mumbler Award for Best Community Project or Charity for Families (June 2020).
